Crafty Kindergarten Students are building a collage using a cardinal as the theme for their final work. We looked at images of birds, especially the unique paintings of artist and illustrator, Charlie Harper. Students practiced their cutting skills and arranged their compositions. It was up to each individual artist to decide which season to use in their final composition. In this picture below, we see Spring is in the air. Great job artist! See the resemblance to a Harper Collage?
We worked very hard on our owl sculptures; adding texture and trying to get them to stand on their own. Next week we will glaze.
Creative Kindergarten Students studied the unique painting style of George Seurat (Click and learn_). We studied trees in the four Seasons and created our paintings using paint and Q-tips. What fun we had. Boy, it was sure messy too!
