Our Creative Kindergarten students are having a blast this week. They are the first to work with clay this year. We have studied owls and now, we are getting our hands dirty, using the slab and modeling techniques to build a free standing owl sculpture. We have added texture using paper clips and the lids from our markers. Next, we glaze! Parents, that is paint for clay. We never use the phrase- paint our clay. We are so Art Smart!
Our Owls, waiting to become BONE DRY so they can FIRE in the KILN.
We worked very hard on our owl sculptures; adding texture and trying to get them to stand on their own. Next week we will glaze.
I am so excited about the fabulous artwork that our Abingdon Artists are creating. They work so hard in the studio; I am sure you can see that. Enjoy discussing all that your artist is learning and creating. Remember, their inspiration and creativity, begins with you! Tell us what you think. Your feedback is important and greatly appreciated!
